Streaming aggregator Reelgood raises $6.75 million in Series A funding led by Runa Capital to expand its universal streaming dashboard. The platform addresses the overwhelming number of streaming services by giving over 10 million users a single hub to track shows and discover new content across more than 336 services, including Netflix, Hulu, Tubi, and TV Everywhere apps.
Reelgood stands out from competitors by offering robust search and filtering tools that allow users to find titles by genre, release year, or ratings from Rotten Tomatoes and IMDB. The service also tracks which titles are new, arriving soon, or leaving various platforms, and provides personalized recommendations that improve as users interact with the app. Once users select a title, they simply press play to launch the appropriate streaming app.
Beyond its consumer app, Reelgood builds a lucrative business by licensing the viewing data it generates to around 50 business customers, including Roku, Microsoft, and the New York Post. The company uses machine learning and human curators to maintain a 98% accuracy rate across its massive, unstructured dataset, providing valuable insights to device makers, publishers, and even financial firms.
