The Future of Life Institute publishes an open letter demanding a six-month moratorium on advanced AI development to address the rapid pace of innovation. The letter questions whether society should allow machines to flood information channels with propaganda or automate away all fulfilling jobs. It also asks if humanity should risk developing nonhuman minds that eventually outsmart, obsolete, and replace people.
