Tesla releases Full Self-Driving Beta 10.3, bringing significant improvements and the largest expansion of beta testers to date. The update goes out to existing testers and all users who achieve a Safety Score of 99 or higher. This broader rollout makes version 10.3 the most widely distributed FSD beta yet, extending access well beyond the previous requirement of a perfect 100 score.
The update introduces highly requested FSD Profiles that allow drivers to customize various driving behaviors. Users now have control over rolling stops, exiting passing lanes, speed-based lane changes, following distance, and yellow light headway. Additionally, the system gains the ability to detect turn signals and hazard lights alongside brake lights, improving its awareness of surrounding vehicles.
Tesla also implements numerous technical enhancements that make the driving experience smoother and safer. The system improves crossing object velocity estimation by 20 percent and increases the frame rate by 1.7 frames per second. Furthermore, the update reduces false slowdowns near pedestrians, allows more acceleration when merging onto major roads, and enables the vehicle to naturally cross lane lines during unprotected turns when it is safe to do so.
