Tesla Plans to Unveil Unique Electric Pickup Truck This Summer
Tesla CEO Elon Musk reveals that the company plans to show off a highly unique electric pickup truck in the summer. The vehicle promises heavy-duty power tools support and dynamic suspension capabilities.
Tesla plans to unveil an electric pickup truck this summer, according to CEO Elon Musk. He shares this update during a conference call following the company's fourth-quarter 2018 earnings report, stating that the upcoming vehicle features a design unlike anything currently on the market.
The pickup truck boasts impressive capabilities, including all-wheel drive with massive torque and a suspension that dynamically adjusts for heavy loads. Musk also notes that the truck includes built-in 240V power outlets, allowing workers to operate high-power tools in the field all day without needing a separate generator.
This potential addition expands Tesla's growing lineup, which currently includes the Model S, Model 3, and Model X, alongside plans for the Model Y crossover and a commercial freight truck. Musk previously describes the futuristic aesthetic of the pickup as resembling something straight out of the sci-fi film "Blade Runner."
