Panasonic temporarily closes its operations for 14 days, leaving Tesla to navigate the production of Model 3 electric motors and battery packs with a severely limited on-site team.
The workforce reduction at the Nevada facility mirrors Tesla's actions at its Fremont, California plant, where on-site staff drops from over 10,000 to about 2,500 workers. These operational changes come shortly after the company informs its workforce that two Tesla employees test positive for COVID-19, highlighting the ongoing challenge of balancing essential manufacturing with public health safety.
