Twitter Brings Back Chronological Timeline to Android
Twitter brings the reverse-chronological timeline toggle to Android users.
Twitter brings back the reverse-chronological timeline to Android after rolling it out to iOS last month. This update gives users more control over how they view their feeds on mobile devices.
Users switch between top tweets and the latest tweets by tapping the sparkle icon in the top right corner of the app. Twitter originally switches to an algorithm-based timeline four years ago, but users long request the return of chronological ordering for following live events like sports and awards ceremonies.
The feature still does not remove "In case you missed it" tweets or notifications about friends liking tweets from accounts you do not follow. Despite these lingering algorithmic elements, the toggle represents a significant step back toward real-time social networking.
