Twitter is testing a new "Original Tweeter" tag to help users identify who started a thread. The feature currently appears for a small percentage of iOS and Android users across various markets. This label plays a crucial role in preventing abuse by making it easy to spot impersonators. Users no longer need to scrutinize every character of a username to avoid fake accounts that copy profiles and reply within popular threads.
