Ubisoft and Mozilla Collaborate on AI Coding Assistant Clever-Commit

Ubisoft and Mozilla team up to develop Clever-Commit, an artificial intelligence coding assistant that learns from a code base’s bug and regression history. The tool analyzes new code as developers commit it and flags potential bugs before they cause problems. Ubisoft already uses this system internally and now brings Mozilla into the partnership to help refine the technology.
Despite Mozilla’s strong open-source reputation, Clever-Commit remains a proprietary tool with no current plans for a public release. Mozilla contributes its programming language expertise in Rust, C++, and JavaScript to help improve the AI. The organization plans to integrate the assistant into its Firefox development cycle to catch three to four out of five bugs before they enter the codebase.
Mozilla initially deploys Clever-Commit during the code review phase to ensure the software shipped in Firefox releases every six to eight weeks is as clean as possible. If the tool proves effective in this early stage, Mozilla expands its use into automated testing and other parts of the code-writing process. This collaboration highlights a growing trend of game developers and browser makers leveraging AI to streamline software engineering workflows.
