Ubtech Shows Off Pair of Humanoid Robots at CES

Chinese robotics company Ubtech showcases its advanced humanoid robots Walker and Cruzr at CES 2019.

Chinese robotics company Ubtech showcases two impressive humanoid robots, Walker and Cruzr, at CES 2019. This major appearance comes shortly after the company secures an $820 million Series C funding round led by Tencent, highlighting significant financial backing for its robotic ambitions.

Walker is a large bipedal robot that stands nearly five feet tall and weighs 170 pounds. It features redesigned grasping hands, a self-balancing torso, and multi-modal interaction through voice, touch, and vision, with a launch planned for the very near future.

Cruzr is a wheeled customer service robot similar to SoftBank's Pepper that is already deployed in various locations. The revamped version debuting at the show includes a better processor, LTE connectivity, and improved servos for its first official North American release.
