Uniphore Reaches $2.5 Billion Valuation After Massive Series E Funding Round
Conversational AI startup Uniphore secures $400 million in Series E funding, achieving a $2.5 billion valuation and official unicorn status. The company plans to use the capital to scale its call center AI platform and enhance its emotional analysis capabilities.
Uniphore raises $400 million in a Series E funding round led by NEA, pushing the conversational AI startup to a $2.5 billion valuation and earning it official unicorn status. Since its launch in India 15 years ago, the company brings AI-powered virtual agents to voice-based customer service and now totals $610 million in overall fundraising. This massive financial boost highlights the growing importance of automated enterprise communication tools.
The company’s enterprise platform combines natural language processing, conversational AI assistants, transcription, and authentication tools for phone and video interactions. Uniphore plans to use the new capital to rapidly scale these services and streamline AI development for users with little or no coding experience. Additionally, the funding supports enhanced emotional analysis capabilities driven by recent acquisitions of Jacada and Emotion Research Lab.
This major investment reflects a broader surge in funding for enterprise conversational AI companies servicing the customer service space. Uniphore CEO Umesh Sachdev emphasizes that understanding conversations and extracting data from them is essential for modern businesses to thrive. The company's accelerated growth follows a spike in demand during the COVID-19 pandemic, aligning Uniphore with other well-funded competitors like Kore.ai, Yellow.ai, and Dialpad that also secure significant financial backing.
