The restriction directly targets Nvidia's A100 and the upcoming H100 models, which major Chinese tech firms like Alibaba, Tencent, and Baidu widely adopt. AMD confirms that the new rules also prevent it from exporting one of its top computing cards to the region.
This export ban significantly threatens the bottom lines of both chipmakers, as China serves as their second-largest market. Nvidia derives over 26 percent of its global revenue from China, while AMD relies on the country for nearly 25 percent of its total sales.
