VESSL AI secures $12 million in a Series A funding round to accelerate the development of its MLOps platform, which targets companies building custom large language models and vertical AI agents. Operating in a competitive market alongside startups like InfuseAI and Comet as well as tech giants like Google Cloud and AWS, the South Korean company carves out a niche by focusing specifically on optimizing GPU expenses through hybrid infrastructure.

The startup utilizes a multi-cloud strategy and spot instances to slash GPU computing costs by up to 80% for its users. This approach not only saves money but also mitigates ongoing GPU shortages by automatically selecting the most cost-effective and efficient processors across various cloud service providers such as AWS, Google Cloud, and Lambda.

VESSL AI currently boasts an impressive roster of 50 enterprise customers, including major corporations like Hyundai, LIG Nex1, and a mobility-as-a-service joint venture between Uber and SK Telecom. Founded in 2020 by former Google and PUBG employees, the company already partners with Oracle and Google Cloud in the United States and supports over 2,000 active users worldwide.
