The current fleet consists primarily of electric Jaguar I-Pace SUVs, though Waymo is preparing to integrate the new Zeekr RT platform designed specifically for autonomous driving. All vehicles currently retain traditional steering wheels and pedals. Riders hail these fully driverless rides through a mobile app, generating an impressive 250,000 paid trips per week across all operational markets.
Phoenix serves as the largest and most mature market for Waymo, while San Francisco maintains the highest concentration of vehicles with 800 to 1,000 units. Increasing the number of cars on the road significantly reduces passenger wait times and allows the service to expand into more neighborhoods.
