Windows 11 2023 Update Begins Rolling Out to Eligible Devices
Microsoft releases the Windows 11 2023 Update (version 23H2) as a streamlined, fast installation for devices already running version 22H2. The update brings a redesigned Microsoft Teams app and better system component management.
Microsoft officially releases the Windows 11 2023 Update, also known as version 23H2, as a scoped and cumulative release. Because it shares the same code base as version 22H2, this feature update delivers through standard servicing technology to provide a fast and reliable installation experience for users.
The update introduces several notable changes to improve daily workflows, including a new default pinned Microsoft Teams (free) app on the taskbar. This mini communications experience allows users to easily chat, call, and organize community groups without taking up too much screen space. Additionally, Windows 11 system components now display a clear "system" label under the All apps section of the Start menu.
Managing these system components is also simpler, as Microsoft moves the management page directly to Settings > System > System Components. Consumers with eligible devices running Windows 11, version 22H2 can manually check for the update by navigating to Settings > Windows Update and enabling the option to get the latest updates as soon as they are available.
