Withings Introduces First Analog Hybrid Smartwatch With ECG Technology
Withings unveils the Move ECG, a hybrid smartwatch that brings on-demand electrocardiogram readings to a classic analog design for just $130.
Withings introduces the Move ECG as the world’s first analog hybrid smartwatch to feature an on-demand electrocardiogram. The device uses a trio of electrodes located on the rear of the watch and in the bezel to capture heart readings in approximately 30 seconds. This approach offers a stylish, traditional alternative to the digital interfaces of other ECG-capable wearables like the Apple Watch.
The classic design specifically targets users who are at risk for conditions like AFib but prefer the look of a standard timepiece over a purely digital screen. Beyond heart monitoring, the Move ECG includes standard fitness and sleep tracking features. A physical dial on the watch face displays the user's progress toward their daily step goals.
Withings packs impressive durability and battery life into the Move ECG by making it water resistant up to 50 meters and promising up to a full year of power on a single charge. Consumers can purchase the hybrid smartwatch in the second quarter for an affordable price of $130.
