X Officially Launches xAI's Aurora Image Generator for Grok Users

X officially introduces Aurora, a new image generator created by Elon Musk's AI company xAI, to its Grok assistant. After a brief and quiet appearance over the weekend, the photorealistic image generator is now available in select countries. xAI states that Aurora excels at rendering precise visual details, text, logos, and realistic human portraits.
The company plans to roll out Aurora to all X users within a week, though the ability to edit existing images will arrive at a later date. During early testing, Aurora demonstrates very few restrictions and easily generates images of public and copyrighted figures like Mickey Mouse. While the model refuses to create nudes, it currently allows the creation of graphic content without issue.
Despite its impressive capabilities, Aurora still exhibits some common flaws found in AI image generators. Early users report seeing objects blending together unnaturally and people missing fingers in the generated images. These visual errors highlight the ongoing challenges AI models face when recreating complex human anatomy and spatial relationships.
