X Raises Premium+ Subscription Prices by Up to 37.5% Globally

X increases the cost of its ad-free Premium+ tier to $22 per month in the U.S., with significantly steeper hikes hitting certain international markets like Nigeria and Turkey.

X raises the price of its top-tier Premium+ subscription by 37.5% to $22 a month in the United States, making this the largest price increase since Elon Musk acquires the platform in 2022. Annual U.S. subscriptions also climb to $229 from $168, while the platform's basic tier remains at $3 a month. Existing subscribers keep their current rates until January 20 before the new pricing takes effect.

The price adjustment extends internationally, but it impacts some markets much harder than others. Users in the European Union see monthly rates rise to €21 from €16, and Canadian customers face an increase to $29 from $20. X states that these changes are necessary to support the experience it offers to its user base.

Certain regions experience extreme price surges that far exceed the baseline 37.5% increase. In Nigeria, the monthly cost jumps from ₦7,300 to ₦34,000, and Turkish users see their bills rise from ₺300 to ₺770. These dramatic disparities highlight the varied financial impact of X's new global pricing strategy across different economies.
