xAI Launches Standalone Grok AI App for Android Users

xAI introduces a standalone Grok app for the Android platform, enabling users to interact directly with this generative AI model from their smartphones. This release follows the successful launch of the iOS app in December, expanding the chatbot's mobile accessibility beyond the X social media platform.
The Android application offers a wide range of features, including fast text responses, image generation from text descriptions, and detailed analysis of uploaded images, PDFs, and sketches. Additionally, the app provides expanded search results that incorporate both web article links and X posts, allowing users to easily tap and verify their sources.
The Grok Android app is currently open for limited testing in Australia, Canada, India, the Philippines, and Saudi Arabia via the Google Play Store. xAI restricts this initial test phase to just 1,000 users and plans to release the app to all Android users globally once the testing concludes.
