Zoom Creates New Cybersecurity Council and Hires Former Facebook CSO Stamos

Zoom forms a new CISO Council and Advisory Board composed of top security leaders from major companies like VMware, Netflix, and Uber. CEO Eric Yuan states that this group helps him become a more effective leader and ensures that privacy and security remain top priorities for the video conferencing service.
As part of a 90-day plan to conduct a comprehensive security review, Zoom brings on Alex Stamos as an outside advisor. Stamos brings extensive experience to the role, having previously served as the Chief Security Officer at Facebook where he protected the data of 2.5 billion users.
Beyond his work at Facebook, Stamos currently holds academic positions at Stanford University and contributes to Harvard's Defending Digital Democracy Project. His broad expertise across government and academic advisory boards provides Zoom with valuable external guidance as the company works to address recent privacy concerns.
